【 摘 要 】

Production of Maggots from By-products in Ivory Coast. Our objectives are the study of the cycle of development of flies living on household refuses and the determination of the most favourable byproducts for their proliferation, particularly at maggot stage. A fly's inventory realized on various household refuses reveals two families: the Calliphoridae (meat flies) which are the most abundant and the Muscidae (houseflies). Calliphoridae and Muscidae development cycle can last about eight to ten days, from oviposition to blossoming, at 35.5-37 °C. They develop preferentially on animal scraps. The productivity in maggots on animal by-products solely is superior to a mixture of animal and vegetable by-products. Maggots proliferate seldom on cassava's semolina, pineapple's peeling, banana's peeling or raw pieces of yam.
