【 摘 要 】
Structuralstabilityisoneofthemajorfactorsconsideredforstructuraldesign.Theintegrityof carbon fiberreinforcedpolymerasatensegritysystemina suspendomeisinvestigatedby employingacomputationalmodelwithaspanof93m.ANSYSsoftwarewasemployedforthe investigation. The load-displacement curve of the structure was studied to understand the ultimate loadbearingcapacityincomparisonwithsteelcableusingNewton-Raphsonandarclength methods.Parameterssuchasnodaldisplacement,stressesonthesinglereticulatedlayerand internalforcesofthetensionmembersthatinfluencethestructuresintegritywereconsidered. Resultsshowthatdespitetheantistrophicnatureofcarbon fiberreinforcedpolymerit possessessimilar characteristics as steel cables.
