【 摘 要 】

This contribution combines a general remark on the internationalization and homogenization of German Studies particularly when practised as postcolonial studies with a call for more historical specificity, societal relevance and the role of awkwardness as the starting point for both our scholarly and educational activity as well as intervention in public debates such as that sparked by the Black Lives Matter movement.
