【 摘 要 】

This theoretical essay aims to discuss the theme of development in Latin América based on ECLAC theories and the dependence theory of Celso Furtado. Based on this perspective we discuss the consequences of neoliberal policies for the development process in these countries, emphasizing the expansion of the relation of colonization and dependence of Latin America in relation to the countries of the capitalist center. We conclude with some notes on current perspectives for development, which point to a change in the relationship between state and market, with an expansion of the role of the State to overcome the historical fragilities of these countries and a perspective of endogenous regional development.
