【 摘 要 】
Arthur Schopenhauer's "Denial of the Will-to-Live" can be identified in his praxis, both philosophically and religiously, to the ascetic phenomenon. Its foundations, however, do not allow us to identify such synonym. However, we believe that "Denial of the Will-to-Live" may offer us a greater approximation between philosophical and religious ascesis, according to even its most diverse phenomenologies, precisely because it identifies the world as a sign of suffering rather than of pleasure, once it is a perception possibly inherent in human existence.
