【 摘 要 】
Abstract In accordance with Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, the evaluating Member State (EMS), Germany, received an application from BASF SE to set an import tolerance for the active substance dimethomorph in papaya from Brazil. Germany drafted an evaluation report in accordance with Article 8 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, which was submitted to the European Commission and forwarded to EFSA. An import tolerance proposal of 1.5 mg/kg was derived from the submitted residue trials conducted in Brazil on papaya. However, since the tolerance established for papaya in the exporting country Brazil is set at 0.7 mg/kg, EFSA proposes to limit the EU maximum residue level (MRL) for papaya at this level. Based on the risk assessment results, EFSA concludes that the authorised use of dimethomorph on papaya in Brazil will not result in a consumer exposure exceeding the toxicological reference values and therefore is unlikely to pose a consumer health risk.
