【 摘 要 】

Globalization has become one of the most important and controversial issues of our era. The economic, social, political, cultural and ideological impact of globalization is seen in every aspect of our lives, especially in its effect on the environment, culture, political systems, economic development and wealth distribution. Especially in the last three decades, the dimensions of technology, cross-border trade, investment, transport, and migration have changed so much that we truly live in a global world. This has naturally reduced the distance between people and increased the points of interaction. Globalization holds an important place in David Greig's plays, in which the changing economy, expanding global transportation and communication networks bring together people from different cultures and backgrounds in 'transit' places such as train stations, airport terminals and waiting rooms. This interaction, however, does not only occur in ordinary conditions such as business trips or travel, but also under hard conditions such war, changing borders and forced immigration. One such play is Greig's Europe, staged at the Traverse Theater Edinburgh in 1994. This study will examine Europe in the light of globalization and the changes that took place in Europe in the late twentieth century.
