thisresearchexploresthediscoursesonthecircuit of production and circulation of scientific knowledge ofconsolidatedChileanacademicsthroughaqualitativestudybasedonsemi-structuredinterviews.ItelaboratesontherelationshipwiththenationalcircuitofscientificjournalsandthediscoursesaboutOpenAccessjournals.ItisfoundthatthepublicationinOpenAccessjournalshas characteristics that increases uncertainty in the construction of academic capital and that the structure of scientific production in Chile does not provide any incentive forresearcherstochangetheirestablishedpatternsofpublication.
