【 摘 要 】

The issue of women's rights in Turkey goes back to the Tanzimat and Constitutional era. Women's rights in Turkey, shaped by modernization, reached the level of Western women with the declaration of the Republic of Turkey and the Revolutions, thus surpassing many Western countries chronologically. Turkish women became visible with the social transformation that started with the proclamation of the Republic. The revolutions made by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in the elds of education, law and political rights made it possible for Turkish women to reach success in their struggle of rights faster than their contemporaries. The improvement of the social status of Turkish women, especially in their political rights, affected women in many Middle Eastern countries, especially women in Egypt. The 12th Congress of the International Union of Women organized in İstanbul in 1935 clearly showed the close attention of Egyptian women to Turkey. In this article, based on the newspapers, magazines and memorial works of that time, the effects of the developments in women's rights in Turkey on Egyptian women were examined.
