【 摘 要 】

In this paper, as part of a research about Babel magazine (1988-1991), one of the most important literary disseminator during the period of democratic recovery in Argentina, we will study two novels: El volante [The Flier] (1992), by César Aira, and Los elementales [The Elementals] (1992), by Daniel Guebel. Babel, and the former “Shanghai” group from where the magazine arose, was the place of Daniel Guebel’s literary emergence in the mid 80’s. Meanwhile, the magazine also meant a legitimization platform for César Aira, although his work was published since the 70’s and his belonging to the group was partial. In said novels we find a representation, by way of “collective autofiction” (Castro 2009), of the authors’ belonging to the group gathered around Babel.
