【 摘 要 】

Tabriz and its traditional carpet Market are considered as important centers of carpet production and export. The carpet market of Tabriz is so important due to its trade value, high portion of its share in non-oil exports of Iran and also aesthetic value of traded carpets in it. Present research studies City of Tabriz, characteristics of its carpets as well as the main supply centers of given art and the industry of famous plazas and malls of Tabriz traditional carpet market and introduces various carpet types available in them. Present study aims to review and identify Tabriz traditional carpet market - one of Iran’s carpet poles -, its evolution and changes through recent years considering its aesthetic value. The findings indicate that the mentioned market has a major economic-commercial role in preservation of carpet-weaving art of this region and country. Besides, the architecture and cultural-social texture of Tabriz traditional carpet market has a special importance as an artistic -social asset. The supplied carpets in this market have various designs.
