【 摘 要 】

The two main obstacles to argumentative analysis are how to identify arguments and how to characterize the argumentation. This article focuses on identifying arguments within a typical newspaper editorial. By defining the argument as an articulation of a proposition and one or more rationales, the problem of finding its expression is dealt with by establishing a parallel with the speech act. An opposition test to help locate these propositions is then performed.
