【 摘 要 】

In this paper realization of right to life is discussed through the context of legal and ethical issues of abortion. After presentation of abortion's history, it is given brief review of reproductive rights and liberties as well as it is considered right to abortion, inter alia. Capital part of this paper is dedicated to critical consideration of basic postulates of "pro life" and "pro choice" concept supporters. Also, conflict of interests is considered, interest of child - to be born, and interest of mother - to decide liberally and unrestrictedly if she will give birth at all, and if yes, when. Beside this, situation in positive law of Serbia is reviewed as well as from the aspect of incrimination of abortus, but also through studying procedures of allowed termination of pregnancy. At the very end, comparative analysis of foreign laws are given together with classification of countries based on abortion attitudes, which is both complex and attractive topic and definitely one of these which belongs to grey area of ethics.
