【 摘 要 】

Background and objectives: Coronary artery bypass graft has been used like therapeutic method in many patients to extend life and to improve its quality. This investigation was performed todetermine global survival of the patients, and associated to certain variables. Method: An epidemiological investigation was carried out in 199 patients who underwent surgery during the years 1990 to 2000. A data base in SPSS with all variables was created. Patients were visited at their houses or were contacted by telephone, and later they were evaluated in the hospital. Kaplan Meier's method was applied with the aim of estimating survival periods, and Log Rank's technique was used for comparison between strata. Results: Global survival was 90.9 % for one year, 86.1 % to 5 years, 66.3 % to 10, and 64.1 % for 14 years. Sex did not influence survival (p > 0,05).Other variables range as follows: 100 % for the group of age between 30 to 39 years (p = 0,0108); 100 % in patients with one-vessel disease, 69.6 % with two, and 72.8 % with three vessels (p =0,0881); 85.7 % with single bypass-graft, 74.3 % with two, 72.1 % with three, and 72.5 % with four or more grafts (p > 0,05); 91.7 % with arterial grafts, 81.8 % with mixed ones, and 65.1 % when vein was used (p = 0,058). Conclusions: The highest survival was reached in younger patients, those with single affected coronary vessel, single aorto-coronary graft, and those who received arterial grafts.
