【 摘 要 】
The plastic wastes treatment needs more attention since conventional waste handlings could create other environmental issues. Plastic waste recycling into a higher-value product, such as fiber membrane, could be one solution. On the other hand, the fabrication of high-performance air filters from abundant materials is also needed to overcome the increasing health risk from air pollution. Here, we demonstrate an upgraded blow spinning technique for fabricating air filters from waste-acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (waste-ABS). A comprehensive discussion on the optimum fabrication process, performance, and characteristics of the waste-ABS air filter was presented. Furthermore, the blow spinning technique produces fibrous surfaces that enhance the raw ABS's property into a more hydrophobic membrane. The ABS membrane exhibited high filtration efficiency of 96.17%, with an acceptable pressure drop of 86.6 Pa and a decent quality factor of 3.76 ( × 10−2 Pa−1). These results were comparable to or even better than fiber membranes made from other materials. Finally, the fabricated waste-ABS air filter presents a promising application for faster high-performance air filter production.
