【 摘 要 】

Socio-economical Importance of Rubber Production and Food Insecurity in Odjukru, Region of Dabou (Côte d'Ivoire). This study tries to understand the reasons why rubber is produced in Odjukru and analyzes the related health and environmental problems. Several plantations were examined, particularly at Aklodj, Dibrm and Lôkp. This study, both qualitative and quantitative, presents the results of the field survey. It deals with the economic importance (source of income) and sociocultural value (social integration, ceremony) of the rubber production, which has also caused health risks and environmental problems. Therefore, a critical assessment of the economical development policy is essential to prevent environmental problems and food insecurity.
