【 摘 要 】

In East Java there are two big languages, they are Javanese and Madurese language. Although the languages differ, but both of them have the genetic relationship. The aim of this research is to know the genetic relationship of the two the languages. The problems of the research are how the genetic relationship betwen Javanese and Madurese languageand how the variation the kognat phonem words between the two languages. This research used comparative method. The technique is to differs the grade of relationship of the languages. It is analyzed by comparing vocabulary between each other. It is analyzed by looking similarities of the two languages. The results showed that based on the lexicostatistics enumeration in the compared languages shows that the percentage of genetic relationshipamong a group of Javanese and Madurese language group in the stockgroups. In the Javanese group, it was found the existence of a genetic relationship that shows the percentage of family groups in the language of Jawa Osing (JO) with another Java language group (Jawa Solo Yogya (JSY), Jawa Suroboyoan (JS), andJawa Pantura (JP). It is showed thatJawa Osing (JO)has its own language group. The existence of a genetic relationship between these related languages are also supported by the presence of these phonemes variation in some cognate vocabulary in the form of vowel and consonant correspondence.
