【 摘 要 】

Playing with equal means: the use of transcending narrative to induce social transformationRecent developments in housing, wellbeing and care create the need for transforming the social sector in the Netherlands. This article proposes narrativity as potentially powerful means to substantiate this transformation based on collective sensemaking in social care networks. To this purpose the transformation is metaphorically represented as learning how to play a new game, with relations, meaning and participation as main constituents of a level playing field. Dynamics on this playing field are generated top-down by narrative interventions and bottom-up by inducing learning capacity and collective learning processes of the participants. Narrativity may thus yield an integral, democratic and network-based alternative for traditional governance in and after the transformation of the social sector.Spelen met gelijke middelen: overstijgende narratieven als instrument voor sociale transformatieRecente ontwikkelingen in wonen, welzijn en zorg vereisen een transformatie van de sociale sector in Nederland. Een narratieve benadering wordt voorgesteld als een potentieel krachtig middel om deze transformatie vorm te geven vanuit collectieve betekenisverlening in de zorg- en welzijnsnetwerken. Er wordt een metafoor gehanteerd van het leren spelen van een nieuw spel, met als belangrijkste elementen relaties, betekenis en participatie. Dynamiek in het spel wordt van bovenaf gegenereerd door narratieve interventies en van onderop door het aanspreken van leervermogen en collectieve leerprocessen van de spelers. Narrativiteit vormt op deze wijze een integraal, democratisch en netwerk-gebaseerd alternatief voor traditionele sturingsmechanismen te midden van en na de transformatie van de sociale sector.
