【 摘 要 】

This article deals with, and invites interest in, the inclusion of gender-linked factors in the sociology of ageing. The first step is to ascertain the place accorded to aged women by sociologists: three attitudes have been observed: ignoring female old-age; focalization on female old-age and the comparison of male and female ageing. The second step is the presentation of the results of a study of widowhood with an accent on three aspects which reveal the gender-linked nature of this experience: the reorganization of activity; transformations of sociability; the emotional reactions to the partner’s death.
