【 摘 要 】

Within the last years the psychological interest in the issue of friendship has evidently risen. This article gives an overview of the current research on friendship whereas within this outline, new - partially unpublished research results from the Institute of Psychology at the University of Hagen - are presented. The Research Colloquium “Interpersonal Relationships”1 particularly focused on gender differences. Moreover the cultural dependence of amicable relationships is discussed in detail.
