【 摘 要 】
Vaccination against COVID-19 is currently the most important scientific response to the global threat that the pandemic has represented. This two-part exclusive article about vaccination and rheumatic diseases appears as a response to the need of keeping PANLAR* members, Board of Directors and Global Rheumatology community up to date with the latest developments related to COVID-19. This first issue will address relevant aspects of vaccine safety and efficacy. The second issue, appearing next week, will present special considerations about COVID-19 cases with pre-existing autoimmune rheumatic diseases. We will be always keeping in mind that patients and physicians should be properly informed in their shared decision making processes.
