【 摘 要 】

This work is focusing on the struggle for the national unity of the Romanian people. The dream of Great Romania became reality in the glorious year 1918. But this wasnt a hazardous result, this was the peak of a very well managed national plan. First World War was the Romanian people that long time expected moment of owning the status a united and strong nation. This objective of national unity putted together all social groups, powerful political adversaries, all the parties and all the people in a common battle for that Great Romania for which many generations fighted and sacrificied before them ! Another important point is to see that Romanian people entered in the XX century and over passed the First World War with a very clear sense of national identity. One hundred years ago, Romania was not just a battlefield between world s greatest powers, but it was a respected european power itself. The monarchy had a very important place in this process of building the modern Romania, and in the frontline of building that miraculous year, 1918, and passing a very fierce and devasting war, are the figures of King Ferdinand and Queen Maria. They had the chance to work at this national project with men of state like Ion I.C. Brătianu, Barbu Ştirbey, Alexandru Averescu, Vintilă Brătianu, Constantin Prezan, Iuliu Maniu, Take Ionescu, Iuliu Hossu, Alexandru Vaida Voevod, Petre Carp, Nicolae Filipescu, Nicolae Iorga and many other personalities which can be considered as the ,,Founding Fathers” of Great Romania. Turning back of those years of great sacrificies and full of dramatism and courage is just a little in our need of understanding who we are and were we can find the roots of contemporary Romania.
