【 摘 要 】

This article shows that the intensity of the Franco-Algerian controversy surrounding author Kamel Daoud, at the beginning of 2016, can only be understood by placing it in the tumultuous history of relations between the former metropolis and its former colony, and not only because of the context following the terrorist attacks of 2015 in France. By stressing the centrality of the Algerian question in the French political-media field, this study underlines the progressive eviction of the problematic of the reception of migrants and refugees in Europe, which was nevertheless the subject of controversy, in favour of a growing focus on the relationship with Islamism, the Muslim religion or the notion of Islamophobia.
