【 摘 要 】

fter being elected director of The “Nicolae Iorga” History Institute of The Romanian Academy, after the fall of the communist regime in December 1989, I had the initiative to set a new direction to the relations between Romanian and Russian historians, relations that have been seriously damaged in the last years, just like the relations between the two countries. During my brief stay in Moscow, in October 1990, I had the opportunity to observe the turmoil within the intellectual environment at the imminent dissolution of the Soviet Union.
