【 摘 要 】

In anticipation of the Second European Union-Latin American and Caribbean Summit to be held in Madrid during the Spanish presidency of the EU in the first half of 2002, the author analyzes, from a Spanish point of view, the strategic alliance between the two regions in terms of its success, its consolidation and the need for its strengthening in the three distinct areas of politics, economics and trade, and cooperation.
