【 摘 要 】

Like any highly structured studio system, the Japanese film industry has favored the production of many remakes, but its activity is characterized by the very frequent simultaneity of adaptations drawn from the same repertoire. Thus, during the studios’ second golden age, some narratives inspired by historical events or figures, first used for the stage, are over and over adapted to the screen in such proportions that fashions can’t explain alone. This text puts forward new reflections to understand the strategies deployed by the major production companies at their peak at the turn of the sixties before the massive implementation of television. The study of the dramaturgical economy of concomitant film adaptations of the play Chūshingura, in which all the local star system’s resources are exploited, is used as a common thread.
