【 摘 要 】

The current controversy about the most appropriate way to evaluate science generates the need to know the indicators that measure it, and even more so when it focuses on evaluating individual scientific production. The objective of this article is to describe the bibliometric indicators applicable to individual production. Individual production indicators should be used when evaluating scientific production, so a consensus is needed as regards the creation of algorithms to evaluate it. The evaluation should be inclusive, using more than one indicator, where the impact factor should not be the only one taken into account. Despite its limitations they constitute a strong tool to measure the impact of science. Bibliometric indicators promise to be a reliable source when discerning between magazines, articles and authors.
