【 摘 要 】

Thefollowingarticleproposesareflectiononthedualroleplayedbyarchivistsin relation to the evaluation the documents. The first role is related to technical processes, especiallyincorporatesscenarioswhereKnowledgeManagementhaslatelyhadanimportantparticipation;thesecondrole,ontheotherhand,islinkedtothesocialand historicalsensitivitytoassumethearchivistasamanagercollectivememory.Both aspects, in my view, should characterize a complete archivist, however, there are ethical issues that seem far apart. These nuances complicate the work of professional Archivist, who ultimately, despite scientific filter to have submitted their personal criteria, judged by the documental value what society should and should not remember.
