【 摘 要 】

A better understanding of Catalan Baroque literature and a continued analysis of the work of one of its most illustrious authors, Francesc Fontanella, reveals a hitherto unsuspected myriad of role models and stimuli, including the influence of the authors and works of early 17th-century France, from Corneille to Barclay, as well as the roman héroïque, an emerging genre at the time. The Catalan author is a unique case of the diverse influence of French Baroque on Peninsular Golden Age literature.
