【 摘 要 】

Leukemia is the most common malignancy of childhoodrepresenting about 30 % of oncohematologicaldiseases diagnosed in children less than 15 years ofage. We report the case of a 4 year old girl with acutepromyelocytic leukemia whose blasts showed themorphology characteristic of acute promyelocyticleukemia variant. The case is reported because in thepaediatric population the acute promyelocytic leukemiais a rare occurrence moreover, it represent a trueoncohematology emergency, in this case the laboratoryhas a significant role since the timing of diagnosismust be very short. It helps in therapeutic protocolscompared to conventional therapeutic protocols inAcute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), the introduction ofretinoid All-Trans-Retinoic Acid (ATRA), both inchildren and adults with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia(APL), has significantly reduced the early mortality.
