【 摘 要 】

The annotated publication of two previously unknown letters by Ellis and Andrei Bely has to do with Ellis's work on his translations of Baudelaire and Verhaeren. On the basis of this witness it can be argued that the preface to the translation of the Verhaeren’s drama «Monastery», signed by Bely's name, in fact belongs to Ellis. The letters also shed light on the relations between the correspondents and on some issues concerning the activity of the publishing house «Musaget».
