【 摘 要 】

The article deals with a discursive process massively used by the Napoleonic propaganda in the Journal de l’Empire: dichotomous opposition. At the same time, it examines the causes of the campaign of Spain, analyzing the prejudices and the incomprehension of France in front of the nation which it intended « to regenerate ». Largely inspired by the Enlightenment, the image shown by the Parisian daily paper is the one of a Spanish nation having an important potential, but paralyzed by the action of an important, reactionary and superstitious monachal community, by no means comparable to the other European clergies. The opposition is made between good and bad Spanish according to the support they give or not to the Napoleonic power. Eventually, besides the condemnation of an unhealthy alliance between Spanish Revolution to the harmful Englishman, no credit is given to the members of the Sevilla Junta.
