【 摘 要 】
The aim of this work is to examine the environmentaldependence of stellar velocity dispersion in localgalaxies. In studies that likely suffer from the radial selectioneffect, one has a preference for the use of volumelimitedsamples. Two volume-limited samples with differentredshift and luminosity ranges were constructed fromthe Main galaxy data of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey DataRelease 10 (SDSS DR10). Considering some drawbacks ofvolume-limited samples, the apparent magnitude-limitedMain galaxy sample was also applied. Statistical analysesin these different galaxy samples can reach the same conclusion:galaxies with large stellar velocity dispersions existpreferentially in high density regimes, while galaxieswith small stellar velocity dispersions are located preferentiallyin low density regions, which is inconsistent withthat obtained at intermediate redshifts.
