【 摘 要 】
Abstract This paper discusses a method to estimate the probability density function of the residual deformation of a bilinear single‐degree‐of‐freedom system with isotropic hardening or kinematic hardening; this method is more detailed compared to the “random walk”‐assuming methods proposed in previous reports. In this study, 2 parameters representing the difference between “random walk” and actual behaviors are utilized to estimate the standard deviation of residual deformations after earthquakes. A comparison of response analyses shows that the proposed method is more accurate in estimating the standard deviation of residual deformations, compared to methods assuming the “random walk” hypothesis.
