【 摘 要 】
This study tries to answer three questions related to the attitudes of the Saudi Arabian Society toward the blind: 1. Are there differences in the attitudes by sex? 2. are there differences in the attitudes by age? 3. are there differences in the attitudes by educational level? Three null hypotheses were included: 1. No significant statistical differ-ences , by sex,in the attitudes towards the blind, 2. no significant statistical differences , by age,in the attitudes towards the blind, 3. no significant statistical differences , by educational level,in the attitudes towards the blind. The sample included 550 Saudi Arabians, 393 males and 157 females from different age levels, and different educational level. A questionnaire was developed especially for the purpose of the study composed of 62 items, and a rating scale of 3 scores was used for each question, therefore the maximum score equals 182. The results obtained revealed that the first and the third hypotheses were confirmed, and the second hypothese was partially confirmed.
