L’articolo affronta il tema di cosa sia l’ICT oggi proponendo un punto di vista particolare. A partire da una valutazione della realtà del settore ICT oggi in Italia, anche attraverso una rilettura storica, individua alcune significative e innovative applicazioni. L’articolo affronta anche le problematiche relative alla formazione di nuove competenze e professionalità e alla esigenza di un sempre maggiore interscambio tra il sistema formativo e il mondo produttivo.

The article deals with the subject of what the ICT is today by proposing a particular point of view. From an assessment of the reality of the ICT sector in Italy today, also through a historical interpretation, identifies a number of significant and innovative applications. The article also addresses issues related to the university education for new skills and competencies and the need for a greater interchange between the university and the industrial worlds.
