【 摘 要 】

We understand feedback as a process of collecting and sharing information about the management of critical situations affecting individuals in a complex system. Most episodes considered in studies on feedback are about individual experience (individual feedback) or are proposed by the organisation (organisational feedback). There are fewer studies on experiential narratives (collective feedback), even though such accounts from members of a group are common and are considered useful in safety management. This study aims to investigate the use of different feedback in critical situations and to test whether experiential narratives are called upon and used in critical situations. Interviews were conducted with experienced fighter pilots of the French Air Force, who were asked to give an account of how they had handled a problematic situation. The interviews were conducted in a non-directive manner so that the pilots could spontaneously mention the episode during their account. The results indicate that such episodes are often mentioned and are considered useful in dealing with critical situations. They also show a preponderance of individual feedback, then collective feedback, over organisational feedback in critical situation management.
