【 摘 要 】
In this article I try to weave some characteristics related to Cultural History, whose proposals for a new historiographic established from the nineteenth century, especially with Roger Chartier and Miguel de Certeau in the French current, who well dialogue with studies developed by Bourdier. Besides, I introduce the phenomenon of representation and the reflections of the culture concept to its theoretical-methodological contribution, turning to a dialogue proposed between CH and the Literacy Studies (STREET, 1984; OLIVEIRA, 2008), from which many problems emerge, especially concerning to identity issues to better understand what the so-called new reader is.
