【 摘 要 】

Media are at the same time means of expression, institutions, and at the same time power and influence issues. They shed light on the nature of relations between social actors. Being established in given political and cultural environments, they are a prism which helps understand societies in their multiple dimensions (economic, cultural, political, anthropological). Analyzing the media of a specific country sometimes boils down to analyzing another subject : in our case here, the degree of openness of the Egyptian public space. If one wants to put it bluntly, we can say that public and private media are totally controlled by the State. But what could be seen as a seizure of the public space is nothing more than the isolation of a power in a monochrome space. Many citizens express nothing else than their non-adherence to official media speeches and messages. This article is based on a field study and the analysis of the Egyptian press from June 2018 to July 2019. The evolution of the Egyptian media is analyzed through an approach falling within the political economy of media and the sociology of actors in the media field.
