【 摘 要 】

An ecological study was done on Lake Taabo with the main objective of characterisingmacroinvertebrate communities associated with the microhabitats created mainly byEichhornia crassipes and other littoral native macrophytes. We sampledorganisms in patches of those aquatic macrophytes. Also, some abiotic variables(temperature, transparency, turbidity, pH, TDS, conductivity, dissolved oxygen,NH$_{4}^{+}$+4,NO$_{3}^{-}$−3,NO$_{2}^{-}$−2,PO$_{4}^{3-}$3−4 andSiO$_{2}^{-})$−2) were measured. Overall, forty-three taxa ofmacroinvertebrates were identified. Ten of them were exclusively associated with waterhyacinth while five were only associated with littoral macrophytes. Macroinvertebrate taxawith some of the highest family richness were Gastropoda, Coleoptera, Heteroptera, Odonataand Diptera. The taxon with highest density in both microhabitats was Chironomidae.Although higher values of taxonomic richness (Rs), the Shannon index(H′) and evenness (J) were obtained withthe water hyacinth habitat, significant differences between the two microhabitats were notobserved. Canonical Correspondence Analysis revealed that samples of E. crassipescollected in the dry season were characterised by Gastropoda and Odonata, as wellas higher values of transparency and ammonia-nitrogen. Baetidae, Hydrophilidae,Chironomidae, Ceratopogonidae, Coenagrionidae, Naucoridae and Ostracoda were most abundantin both E. crassipes and littoral macrophyte habitats during the rainyseason. This season was characterised by higher levels of nitrates and conductivity.
