【 摘 要 】

This article reveals the symbolic and axiological essence of idioms containing the numerical nominators three as theembodiment of the concept of number in Russian, Ossetian and English linguocultures. The universal and ethnocultural inthe picture of the world is most clearly manifested in paremiology with a numerical component. The objects under analysisare Russian, Ossetian, English idioms. The aim of the study is a cognitive, linguistic and cultural analysis of phraseologicalunits and the identification of national characteristics in the interpretation of the number semantics in the Russian,Ossetian and English language pictures of the world. The cognitive characteristics of the internal form of the number inthree languages distinguish certain features of the mentality of a certain people and the national character of the languagepersonality.A comparative study of idioms is connected with the implementation of intercultural dialogue of representatives ofvarious linguocultural communities.
