【 摘 要 】
The goal for this Research Topic was to advance the scientific state of the art by collecting empiricaland theoretical contributions relating to listening in children. Empirical articles that apply methodsincluding behavioral, psychophysical, and neuroimaging approaches to the study of any aspect oflistening in children were welcomed. The plethora of the articles included in the present topicillustrate the complexity and the broad areas of research necessary to understand listening inchildren. The many avenues of research in the field suggest the need for continuous developmentto a coherent theoretical model that can be used to test predictions about listening and listeningeffort in children. In the following, we briefly summarize the 24 contributions.
