Theories of embodied cognition have been around for more than 20 years and present as asuperseding standard cognitive science. Without doubt, the first edition of Embodied Cognitionpublished in 2011 is an unprecedented and outstanding masterpiece in this research area. In thefirst edition, Lawrence Shapiro sets out the central themes and debates surrounding embodiedcognition, explaining and assessing the work of many of the key figures of the field.
