【 摘 要 】
Finite element model is built to predict specimensize effect based on nominal strength. The progressive damage model is described completely and compared with experimental results of diferent scaling geometry. The finite element simulation uses the real mechanical and fracture properties of glass fiber reinforced epoxy laminates. The finite element results are in good agreement with the experimental results for both strength prediction, and direction of crack propagation of the fracture-processing zone. The proposed Finite element simulation can be used to define the location of critical section very well.
