【 摘 要 】

Hip arthroscopy has increased in popularity tremendously in the last five to ten years. In a recent cross-sectional study, an increase of 250% was observed with this surgical technique in the United States between 2007 and 2011. The annual frequency of hip arthroscopy was four cases per 10000 orthopaedic patients in 2011.1 Although femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) is still the main indication for hip arthroscopy, the discovery of other intraarticular and extra-articular entities have increased its frequency. This paper will review the current state of different key points of this surgical technique.
