Ankle sprains are one of the most common musculoskeletal injuries, with an estimated incidence rate of 11.6 per 1000 exposures and a prevalence of 11.9%.1,2 They are the most frequent musculoskeletal trauma among athletes, representing 10–30% of all sports injuries.
