【 摘 要 】

The contributions of biology, especially behavior genetics and evolutionary psychology, to understanding violence in the contemporarys societies have not been understood by other areas of the knowledge that study the same phenomenon at levels of bigher complexity, as the social sciences. Recent studies show that, at the theoretical level, the indifference about the importance of genetics and Darwinians approaches to violence leaves gaps in the causal models used. In the practical exercise of the resolution of social problems, the exclusion of the biological aspects, as the relevance of certain mental states in violent behaviors, generate the absence of health and social resources to assist persons predisposed to violent behavior to deal with it.
