【 摘 要 】
Discriminantfunctionanalysis(DFA)wasusedtodeterminegenderandgeographicvariationinthemorphometricsofwhite-chinnedpetrels(Procellariaaequinoctialis)measuredfromfisheriesbycatchinNewZealand.Samplesweredividedinto5clustersbasedoncapturelocation.ADFAmodelwascreatedusingadultbreedingbirdspresumedtobefromthe2mainlocationsattheAucklandIslandsandAntipodesIslands.Geographicvariationinheadandbill,skullwidth,culmen,culmendepthatbase,culmenwidthatbase,rightandleftmid-toeandclaw,tail,andrightandleftwingwasfoundbetweenbirdspresumedtobefromthe‘Auckland’and‘Antipodes’clusters,with‘Antipodes’birdsbeinggenerallylargerthan‘Auckland’birds.Gendervariationinheadandbill,skullwidth,culmen,culmendepthatbase,culmenwidthatbase,minimumbilldepth,rightandleftmid-toeandclaw,rightwing,rightandlefttarsusexistedfor‘Auckland’birds.Gendervariationinheadandbill,skullwidth,culmen,culmendepthatbase,culmenwidthatbase,minimumbilldepth,rightandleftmid-toeandclaw,andtailexistedfor‘Antipodes’birds.Birdsintheother3clusterswereclassifiedasoriginatingfromtheAucklandIslandsorAntipodesIslands.TheclusteringsuggestedthatbirdsfromtheAucklandIslandstendedtoforagemostlynorthandwest,whereasbirdsfromtheAntipodesIslandsforagedmostlytowardsthenorth.TherewerelargeoverlapsatPuysegurPointandparticularlytheChathamRiseofbirdsfrombothbreedinglocations.Thisstudyshowstheusefulnessofbycatchnecropsies,andemphasisestheneedforfurtherstudiesingeographicvariationandsexualdimorphismatallNewZealandbreedinglocations.
