Burn Donor Site Dressing Using Melolin and Flexigrid Versus Conventional Dressing

【 摘 要 】

Background:Burndonorsitecareisoneofthemostimportantconcernsinburnsurgery.Traditionaldressingsfordonorsiteshavesomedisadvantages,whichinterferewithepithelialgrowthandfinalresults.Objectives:Thisstudyevaluatedtheroleofanovelcomplexdressinginthemanagementofdonorburnsite.PatientsandMethods:Afterharvestingskingraftfromthedonorsite,twodifferentmethodsofdressingwereselected.Incontrolgroup(53patients),traditionaldressingwasputonthedonorsite,butininvestigationgroup(54patients),acombinationdressingconsistofanabsorbentdressing(Melolin)andaprotectivetransparentfilm(Flexigrid)wasused.Results:Epithelializationtimewasapproximately2.5timesshorterintheinvestigationalgroup(Plt;0.05).Theinfectionrateswere4%and21%(Plt;0.05)intheinvestigationandcontrolgroups,respectively.Hospitalizationtimewasdecreasedsignificantly,thusdecreasingthefinalcostofabout25%.Cosmeticresultswerebetterintheinvestigationgroupandmoreacceptablethanthecontrolgroup.Conclusions:Thisnewtechniqueofdressinginburndonorsitesnotonlycandecreasetheepithelializationtime,butalsocanleadtobettercosmeticresults,lowerinfectionratesanddecreasedfinalcosts;thus,recommendableforallskindonorsitesinburn.
