【 摘 要 】
Background::RamadanfastingisprescribedforeveryhealthyMusliminIslamiccountries.Althoughfastingisnotmandatoryforkidneytransplantpatientsinthesecountries,someofthemarewillingtofastandasktheirphysicianswhetheritwouldaffecttheirrenalfunction.CaseReports::Wehavefivekidneytransplantpatients,twomenandthreewomen,withnormalallograftfunctionandormildallograftdysfunctionthattheyfastduringthemonthofRamadan.Theagesofourpatientswerebetween25to40yearsandanyoneofthemhaddiabetesmellitus.Alloffiverecipientsunderwenttransplantationatleast1yearpriortothemonthofRamadan,andhadstableallograftfunctionforatleast6monthspriortothefast-ing.Theirplasmacreatininelevelswerebetween0.9to1.4mg/dlbeforeRamadanandtherewerenosignificantchangesafterthat.TheyalsohaveanyclinicalproblemduringthemonthofRamadan.Conclusion::Inconclusion,itseemsthatfastingduringthemonthofRamadandoesnotassociatedwithanysignificantadverseeffectsinkidneytransplantrecipientswhohadnormalaswellasmildimpairedbutstablerenalfunctionpriortofasting.
